Unveiling SIGGS 3.0: Enhanced Governance Tool Showcased at Second Multiplier Event

The SIGGS 3.0 project (Supporting the Implementation of Good Governance in Sport) marked a significant milestone with its second Multiplier Event, held on 13 November 2024. The event coincided with the European Olympic Committees EU Office’s Special Competence Seminar, creating a dynamic platform for discussion and engagement around governance in sport.

The gathering brought together a diverse audience, including representatives from European National Olympic Committees and sports federations, who were offered an exclusive first look at the beta version of the enhanced SIGGS 3.0 self-evaluation tool. A live demonstration, led by the project’s technical partner Symantra, showcased the tool’s functionalities and practical applications, highlighting its potential to revolutionize governance practices across sports organizations.

Enhanced Features for Modern Governance Needs

Building on the success of its predecessors, SIGGS 3.0 introduces expanded content and improved functionality, making it a more comprehensive and user-friendly governance tool. It covers six key dimensions, encompassing 31 topics, such as (non-exhaustive list):

  • Integrity and transparency
  • Athlete representation
  • Inclusion and diversity
  • Environmental sustainability

With a streamlined, multilingual interface and intuitive design, the tool enables sports organizations to complete a self-evaluation questionnaire in just 20 minutes. Upon completion, users receive an instant, customized action plan tailored to their governance needs, along with benchmarking insights to compare their performance with peers in the sports sector.

Feedback and Collaboration

The Multiplier Event was not only a showcase but also an opportunity for attendees to provide valuable feedback on the beta version. This input will help refine the tool further ahead of its full launch, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of sports organizations across Europe and beyond.

The SIGGS 3.0 project reflects the commitment of its partners to support good governance principles and foster sustainable practices in sport. By addressing contemporary challenges such as inclusion, integrity, and environmental stewardship, the tool aims to empower organizations to lead with accountability and excellence.

Looking Ahead

The full launch of SIGGS 3.0 is scheduled for December 2024, marking a significant step forward in advancing good governance in the sports sector.
