Council of Europe EPAS Statutory Committee meets with focus on integrity

On 4 December, the annual meeting of the EPAS Statutory Committee was held in Strasbourg, followed by an extended session highlighting the work of EPAS, particularly in the area of sport integrity. The essential role of athletes in ensuring sport integrity was presented through discussions on good governance from a football professional player’s perspective, followed by a testimonial on gender equality in tennis. The second part of the meeting addressed specific tools to promote sport integrity, such as the International Partnership Against Corruption in Sport (IPACS), which was presented by Pâquerette Girard Zappelli, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at the IOC, and the Network of Magistrates and Prosecutors Responsible for Sports (MARS Network).
