International Biathlon Union becomes partner of the EOC EU Office

It is with great pleasure that we announce that the International Biathlon Union (IBU) has become partner of the EOC EU Office as of 1 April 2021. The Partnership Agreement confirms the cooperation between the two parties with common interests.

EOC Acting President Niels Nygaard is very pleased with the new partnership. “We really appreciate that the International Biathlon Union (IBU), one of the most successful and prestigious winter sport federations, has become partner of the EOC EU Office” he noted and added: “With this new partnership, the Olympic Movement is even more united and will speak with one voice towards the European institutions. The future cooperation with the IBU in Brussels should be regarded as an important signal in this direction. I am sure all partners will benefit from this agreement.”

IBU President Olle Dahlin expressed his satisfaction by stating: "The IBU is a global International Federation, however we are based in Europe, have many European members and host many events in the continent. We are therefore strongly impacted by European legislation and need to closely coordinate and consult with experts in this field. We are happy to partner with the EOC EU Office to benefit from their expertise and connections in order to deliver on the political objectives set out in our strategic plan Target 26 as well as increasing our knowledge around the EU funding.”

Director of the EOC EU Office, Folker Hellmund, is pleased as well and noted: “IBU is our 32nd partner organisation and we are very happy to have such a strong international federation on board. We warmly welcome IBU and look forward to a fruitful cooperation.”
