Currently, a consortium led by the Centre for Strategy and Evaluation Services (CSES) is carrying out a study on how sport and physical activity can be supported under the EU’s Structural Funds is being carried out.
On 11 September, Tibor Navracsics, Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport announced the composition of two High-Level Groups on Sport. The Commission had published a call for applications for Sport Diplomacy and Grassroots Sport in mid-June and has now published the list of members.
The European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) today became a partner of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) EU Office - the House of European Sport in Brussels. This strategic decision demonstrates the CEV’s strong desire to contribute actively to the European Union’s sport policy. The partnership was announced by EOC President Patrick Hickey and CEV President André Meyer.
The Flagship Event of the European Week of Sport (EWoS) took place on Wednesday 9 September in Brussels with the active participation of the European Olympic Committees. The Event was dedicated to the role of sport in promoting tolerance and open societies in Europe, and brought together key supporters of the EWoS to debate issues and find solutions.
