Final Conference – The Official Launch of SIGGS 3.0 |

On 27 March, the EOC EU Office hosted the Final Conference and Official Launch of SIGGS 3.0. The event featured insights from Dr. Jan Lehmann, Chief Executive Officer of the EOC, on the role of governance in the EOC Strategic Agenda 2030, followed by a keynote from IOC Deputy Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer Giuseppe Deleonardis. The launch highlighted the evolution of governance in sport and reaffirmed the EOC EU Office’s commitment to continuous improvement. Since 2016, the SIGGS tool has been regularly updated to align with emerging governance challenges and best practices. The event also featured testimonials from both long-term and new users, demonstrating the diverse applications of this free and accessible governance tool for sport organisations. SIGGS 3.0 Dissemination – Events & Engagement | The SIGGS 3.0 tool was developed in collaboration with leading experts in governance, and we extend our thanks to them. |
|  | To ensure the tool meets the needs of sport organisations, several multiplier and testing events were conducted. Recent dissemination efforts also include a meeting of international representatives in Sweden, engaging overall 170 participants. Since its initial launch, the tool has been used by over 400 individuals, and we aim to expand its reach even further. Let’s work together to strengthen governance in sport! |

Governance news | Throughout the SIGGS 3.0 project lifetime, governance was often featured in the press. Let's spotlight a few initiatives: | Governance Review of Winter Olympic Federations | The fifth governance review of the Winter Olympic Federations (WOF) has been published by I Trust Sport. It covers the seven International Federations (IFs) that are full WOF members. |
| ANOC Strategic Plan 2025-2028 | ANOC has launched the development of its Strategic Plan for 2025-2028 with the first working group meeting on January 24th, 2025. The plan aims to set priorities and support the Olympic Movement's advancement. |
| Athens Conference on Sport Governance and Inclusion | The Athens Conference of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe focused on safety, integrity, equality, and inclusion in sport, bringing together stakeholders from various sectors. A Parliamentary Alliance for Good Governance and Integrity in Sport was launched to support policy design and implementation. |
| Sport Ireland Governance Conference 2024 | Sport Ireland hosted its 2024 Annual Governance Conference with nearly 150 attendees from NGBs, LSPs, and Sport Ireland staff. The event reinforced Sport Ireland’s commitment to strengthening governance and leadership within funded bodies. |
| European Parliament Report on European Sport Model | The European Parliament is developing a report on the role of EU policies in shaping the European Sport Model (ESM). Expected adoption by the CULT Committee before summer and by the plenary in early September. Good governance remains key to responsible autonomy for sport organisations. |
